MMFF 2022 Officially Declares Four Top-grosssing Films, Announces Summer Filmfest Edition

          At yesterday’s (January 9)press conference, Metro Manila Development Authority’s (MMDA), the proponent behind the successful return of Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2022, announced the four highest-grossing films in the recent run of the said annual festival.

          Selected members of the media received good news from the Chair himself, Atty. Romando Artes, and named the Top 4 MMFF 2022 official entries (based on the gross sales receipts from December 25, 2022 to January 7, 2023,), in alphabetical order: “Deleter,” “Family Matters,” “Labyu with an Accent,” and, “Partners in Crime.” Though there was no mention of exact figures.
            In addition to that, Atty. Artes also announced the staging of the MMFF Summer Edition in April, this is in partnership with the Cinema Exhibitors Association of the Philippines (CEAP). The summer fest will run for an 11-day period, April 8 (Black Saturday) to PRIL 18 in cinemas nationwide.

         Deadline for submission of finished film and other required documents, including official trailer, clipping, and behind-the-scene (BTS) documentation is on January 31 (for early birds). February 17, 2023 is the deadline.
              According to Artes, nothing much different from its December edition, except that the entries could be catered more to the vacationing students, particularly the Filipino youth.
