Ministry of Commerce Thailand leads Thai Rice Promotional Event, Fostering Closer Ties with the Philippines

The Department of Foreign Trade (DFT), Ministry of Commerce in Thailand, in collaboration with the Thai Rice Exporters Association and the Thai Trade Center in Manila, proudly hosted the Thai Rice Market Promotion Event on July 4, 2024, at Mango Tree Restaurant, Bonifacio High Street Central, Taguig City. The event, chaired by Mr. Ronnarong Phoolpipat, Director-General of the DFT, was a resounding success, marking a significant milestone in the trade relations between Thailand and the Philippines.

A highlight of the event was the momentous MOU signing ceremony between Thai Rice Exporters and Philippine Importers. This agreement signifies a new chapter in our trade relations, ensuring continuous growth and mutual benefit in the rice trade between the two nations. The MOU solidifies our commitment to providing high-quality Thai rice to the Philippine market, fostering stronger economic ties.

Mango Tree Restaurant delighted guests with a variety of popular Thai dishes that perfectly complement Thai rice, emphasizing its superior quality and versatility. These activities aimed to enhance the appeal of Thai rice in the Philippine market, highlighting its exceptional taste and nutritional value.

The live cooking demonstrations were a major attraction, featuring renowned chefs who prepared delicious Thai rice recipes. Guests were captivated by the chefs’ skills and enjoyed the opportunity to taste authentic Thai cuisine. These demonstrations provided valuable insights into incorporating Thai rice into everyday meals, promoting its use among Filipino consumers.
