“The main reason bakit kinuha namin uli si Andrea Brillantes as our endorser mainly because ang life n’ya during that time ay naka focus sa social media at nasusubaybayan namin ang career n’ya dahil dun. Katulad din namin, we were quite active sa social media to promote our products. At dun namin nalaman kung gaano kahalaga sa kanya ang pamilya at kung paano s’ya tumulong sa kapwa, ganun din si Jay. As a rider, marami s’yang natutulungan tao sa kalsada.”
– Mr. John Oliva
Tapawarma
CEO
The first Franchise Ball of Tapawarma (beef /chicken tapa & shawarma), held at Madison Events Place (Muntinlupa City) a few days ago was a success. The CEO, Mr. John Oliva, was so eager to welcome some members of the entertainment press, along with his team and franchisees from the various parts of the country. The event became more special and inspiring when two of his endorsers, young star Andrea Brillantes and social media influencer Jay EmIl Lasian (of Team Katagumpay, with almost 9 million followers across all social media platforms).

A self-made businessman, Oliva, 37, who hails from Koronadal, South Cotabato, shared his humble origins and eventually amass a good fortune thru hard work and a series of “hit-or-miss” business ventures.
“I came to Manila to pursue my studies, while working as a janitor. And after college (BS Marine Transportation), I worked in a call center. With enough capital, I ventured into business, Cheap Dito (an online delivery service) ,” he recalled. There he earned his first millions. But with big success, also came his downfall.
“Siguro di ko masyadong natutukan ang accounting side, and at the same time nagkaroon ng change of attitude. At dun nagkaroon start ang problema,” he added.
With the encouragement of his wife, Oliva opened a new business, the Senyor Juan Suman Latik. Although the business was thriving, again, due to pride, his relationships with people close to him were affected. And his concern was focus on earning more, rather than building and protecting his connection with people around him.

And in 2019, Oliva bounced back and opened Tapawarma. “Kaming mag-asawa lang ang nagsimula into, kasi mahilig kaming kumain,” he shared. “Kaming dalawa ang nagluluto, pero ako ang namimili at nag de-deliver. Kaya naging active kami sa social media to market our product,” he said. And since then, there’s no turning back for the couple but to continue in inspiring others and be of service to people who are in need.
As of today, Oliva is the CEO, president and co-founder of other business entities aside from Tapawarma, namely, Salt and Light Beauty Spa Salon, Manna Signature Men’s Spa Salon, Chef Senyor Juan Frozen Meat, Senyor Juan Suman Latin Cafe, and, John and John Global Solutions, Inc.
“With all the failures we’ve went thru, I’ve learned that pride will not bring you anywhere. Hindi ibig sabihin na gumanda na ang negosyo mo ang feeling mo magaling ka na. You must learn also listen to others so you will also learn other things. Always embrace the positive side of others, ” he said. And to articulate more of his mission, he founded a ministry with his other business associated. the PCG (Philippine Christian Group) where the always share ideas for the upliftment of one’s faith and beliefs.
And why renew Andrea and Jay EmIl for the second time?
“Siguro dahil nakikita ko sa kanila na pareho kami ng visions sa buhay, aside from loving our family, we want to help others para mapabuti din ang buhay nila,” stressed the businessman.
