“They are Philmoda’s newest discoveries who are willing to try the many challenges that the industry has to offer today. They are here more than willing to make a name of their own and probably do what my other bankable sexy stars have not done…yet…on screen. And they are more than eager to fill in that space, if the role requires them do to so. I really call them…mga palaban.”

In the movie “Sitio Diablo,” streaming on Vivamax on August 26, 2022, starring AJ Raval and Benz Sangalang, under the direction of Roman Perez, Jr., two new faces are set to showcase their skills. Meet Alona Navarro and Sofia David. The former will flaunt her acting ability and her curve, as one of the supporting roles in the said sexy film, while the latter will be featured as the only female artist of the music video of the said film, surrounded by some of the top rappers in the country today.
Although both are groomed to be sexy screen sirens, Philmoda and Viva/Vivamax are trying to find ways to give them projects that are meant to suit their abilities and talents, not just their sexuality. Alona and Sofia are ready to prove to all and sundry that every move has its purpose and every decision is meant to provide the best lessons and experiences that life has to offer.
As a newbie, Alona believes that “opportunity only knocks once, so grab it.” When Jojo Veloso informed her of the provocativeness of her role in “Sitio Diablo,” she immediately accepted the offer. “As a newcomer, I didn’t know what to expect on the set and I was not that prepared at all,” she claimed. “But all I did was to listen, follow and rely on the instructions of our director (direk Roman), and I just tried to do my best.”
On the other hand, Sofia was more tensed with her stint being the only female featured artist in the music video of the said Vivamax biggest action movie, with a bunch of macho rappers.
“My role was sexy and intimidating, but I had so much fun working with the boys. I think the MTV will be released by Viva Records any time before the movie is out,” said the tattoo lady. “Actually I have lots of tattoos and each one of them has a meaning to it,” she added. “Like the one in the lower part of my body. It’s a koi and a lotus flower. And the reason behind this is that I wanted to have something different in me from other women, and I hope it would become my trademark.”
Doing her daring scenes for the first time on-screen, Alona is quite amused with it, that she called her love acts as “sarap sa papag.” Although she doesn’t want to elaborate the scene to keep people to watch the film. In fact, she doesn’t even want to reveal how sensual her love scenes are, to make viewers get excited with the movie.
“Right now I don’t have limitations. I’m open for frontal nudity, only if my co-actors will be comfortable with that. I believe in the so-called showbiz joke, especially among sexy stars that, ‘you can watch, but you can’t touch.’ So, right now I’m not bothered about viewers’ opinions.” – Alona Navarro (Photo from Alona Navarro FB Official Page)
Admittedly, both newbies were aware that upon signing the contact with Viva Films, they will be confronted with a lot of sexy projects. And they had no qualms with the agreement.
“My parents were shocked at first,” confessed Alona. “But eventually, they understood with my showbiz plans. As long as I am happy with my decisions, they are ready to support me. And as long as my shape and sexiness are there, I will keep on doing sexy movies.”
While Sofia, on the other hand, explained that her parents were not surprised when she informed them of her Viva contract. “They have been exposed to my modeling work. I do a lot sexy pictorials in the past. And they know me very well and what I’m capable of, and they trust me enough with my decisions,” she shared.
In terms of restrictions or limitations, “It’s not a problem,” she added, “I do trust the people around me and I’m working with, and I know people in the industry are professional. Although there are times I do ask myself why I’m here, but on the other hand, I love being on camera. And aide from sharing my talents, I want to be he voice for women who have low-esteem, women who are insecure about themselves because of their flaws. I want to show them how I overcome my insecurities and became confident about myself.”
“When it comes to frontal nudity…it depends. Although I’m not closing my doors to it…and when the situation calls for it and necessary to the scene, then I have to do it. Actually, I have no restrictions.” – Sofia David (Photo from sofiadavs Official FB Page)
As the newest artists of Philmoda, any advice from their manager? “Just o stay humble always and keep your feet on the ground…and prove to everyone how beautiful and talented you are. And I know how much my manager is so supportive of me, and I will do everything not to disappoint my Philmoda family,” stressed Sofia.
“Tito Jo will always remind us na lagi mong gagalingan. Those were short and simple words but always inspire me not only to be good but learn to improve all the time,” said the newly degree holder in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (major in Financial Management).
Soon, Alona and Sofia will start two movies under the newly formed Philoda Productions – “Aswang in the City” and “Tahong ni Carla” – both to be directed by Danny Marquez (“Balangiga 1901”), and will be streamed on Vivamax.
